Every DStv Decoder Error Code Explained

8 Mar 2026 Β· 0 min read

DStv error codes follow a pattern: the ‘E’ number tells you which subsystem failed. Once you know the code, fixing it is straightforward.

E16 = smart card / subscription issue. Reboot, then check your subscription is paid. If both look fine, the smart card may need re-pairing.

E30 = scrambled channel without subscription rights. Usually fixed by a MultiChoice subscription update.

E48-32 = no satellite signal β€” see our dedicated guide.

E64 = smart card not detected. Remove the card, wipe it, reinsert. If it persists, the card slot may have failed.

When in doubt, write down the exact code and call us β€” we know each one’s fix and bring the right spares.
