Extra View lets one Premium account power up to three decoders, each in a different room and each able to watch different channels. It’s the cheapest way to add DStv to a second TV.
Hardware: any two compatible decoders (Explora plus HD PVR, two Exploras, etc.), a coaxial link between them and a Smart LNB at the dish. We supply and configure all three.
MultiChoice charges a small monthly Extra View fee per linked decoder. Activation happens while we’re on site — bring your ID.
Cabling matters. Long runs need RG6 cable and good connectors, otherwise the second decoder loses signal first when there’s weather.
Common Extra View errors: E16-4 (decoders not linked), E48 (no signal at the secondary decoder), and ‘unsupported decoder’ messages on very old hardware.
